PETER ECKRICH
MANAGING DIRECTOR
“For over 20 years, I have been working with smart home, smart building and intelligent building technology. As an energy electronics technician and computer scientist, I combine technical expertise with many years of experience in developing digital solutions.
With the steadily growing climIoT ecosystem, I develop solutions that control energy more efficiently, improve comfort and better adapt buildings to different climatic conditions. The focus is not only on heating costs and energy consumption, but also on indoor climate and protection from heat.
We cannot change the world. But we can make it better. Step by step.
For me, that means using technology intelligently, using energy according to actual needs and making buildings better step by step.”

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
What is a smart building system and what are its benefits?
A smart building system like climIoT connects and automates heating, lighting and energy management in non-residential buildings. Sensors collect relevant room and building data, which is used for demand-based control. This provides greater transparency into building operations, improves user comfort and can help reduce energy consumption and operating costs.
Which types of buildings is climIoT suitable for?
climIoT is particularly suitable for businesses, municipalities and public institutions — such as office buildings, schools, town halls or care facilities with 50 or more radiators.
What is LoRaWAN and why is it particularly suitable for large buildings?
LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is a wireless standard designed specifically for the Internet of Things (IoT). It offers long range, easy integration without cabling and long battery life — ideal for complex, large-scale properties like those connected by climIoT.
How much energy can be saved with climIoT?
climIoT can reduce heating costs by up to 30%. The LoRaWAN-based solution enables demand-based control of heating and room temperature – even in existing buildings and without major structural work. Actual savings depend, among other things, on the building, heating system, usage and starting conditions.
How quickly can climIoT be installed?
Installation generally takes place within two weeks, as the components are connected wirelessly and no intervention in the building fabric is required.
Are government grants available for climIoT?
Yes. Measures such as hydraulic balancing and measurement, control and regulation technology are generally eligible for funding under the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG — individual measures). You should discuss the specific requirements and funding rates with your energy consultant or tax advisor.
How does climIoT help protect the climate?
climIoT makes energy consumption and room temperatures transparent and controls heating according to demand. This helps reduce unnecessary energy consumption and heating costs. When using fossil fuels, it can also help reduce CO₂ emissions from building operations.
